Wellspring Niagara first opened its doors in June 2001 with a mission to provide free social, emotional, psychological, informational and spiritual support to individuals living with cancer, their families and close supporters. Our Lions membership has been touched personally by Wellspring through their support of members and family members during their own fights with cancer. We are proud to have provided a donation to Wellspring for $750 to support the important work they do in Niagara. You can learn more about Wellspring at: https://wellspring.ca/niagara/
Donation to Tomorrow’s Voices
The Port Dalhousie Lions Club is proud to have been able to provide a donation of $500 to Tomorrow’s Voices, a passion project of a dedicated group of volunteers who are committed to supporting local youth through music. Their after-school children’s programs have brought together trained and talented musicians with a variety of backgrounds from classical music to music therapy to engage youth in the power of music. Donation to the Niagara Health Foundation
The Niagara Health Foundation provides fundraising support to the health system supporting the Niagara Region, which provides critical support to our community, including recent support for several of our current and past club members. The Port Dalhousie Lions Club is proud to be able to provide a $1,000 donation to the Niagara Health Foundation as part of their 2023 fundraising drive.
Donation to Linhaven
Linhaven Long-term Care has been a fixure in the North End of St. Catharines since 1918, and has provided care, support, and service to many of our former Lions membership over the past. When they reached out to us to help them purchase new equipment to help them with the valuable work they do, we were thrilled to be able to help. The Port Dalhousie Lions Club is proud to have provided a $2,000 donation to Linhaven LTC for use in the purchase of equipment from their “wish list” in 2023.
Donation to Coldest Night of the Year / Start Me Up Niagara
The Port Dalhousie Lions Club is proud to provide a donation of $1,000 to support the Coldest Night of the Year campaign in support of Start Me Up Niagara and the work they do in St. Catharines to support our homeless and underhomed population. We chose to make our donation through the Dine Niagara team and captain Lion Tim Empringham. We appreciate the volunteer work that our Port Dalhousie Lions Members do outside the club!

Donation to Everett’s Elevator
Our very own Lion David came across a story about a boy named Everett in the St. Catharines Standard a couple weeks ago. Everett and his family started a gofundme to save up for an elevator lift in their family home. Touched by their story, we at the Port Dalhousie Lions Club decided to donate $1000 dollars to help. Pictured here is Lion David and Lion Chief Andre giving the cheque towards the lift for Everett. Everett’s dad, Tyler, accepted for him. Thank you to our MPP Jennie Stevens for hosting us. To learn more about Everett and the situation at hand, we’ve included the link to his gofundme. Please feel free to donate to Everett and his family to help them install, and make the appropriate home renovations for the elevator lift as well 🙂 https://www.gofundme.com/f/everetts-elevator
