We have been made aware that there is someone on Facebook attempting to solicit deposits from vendors for a vendor fair they say will be held at the Port Dalhousie Lions Club on March 2 2025. Please be aware that this is not a valid event and that there is no vendor fair that is registered to rent the hall on that day. Do NOT send any deposits to this person. If you ever have questions about the validity of an event that is posted to be happening at the Port Dalhousie Lions Club you can reach out to us at info@portdalhousielionsclub.ca any time.
Lion of the Year Award
Congratulations to Lion Tom and Lion Dennis as the recipients of this year’s Port Dalhousie Lions Club Lion of the Year Award! The Harry Turton award is presented every year to the Lion or Lions members who have made the biggest contribution to Lionism through the Port Dalhousie Lions Club. Congratulations Tom and Dennis and thank your for your ongoing support and hard work for the club!
Donation from Garden City Home Hardware
The Port Dalhousie Lions Club would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Dennis and his team at Garden City Home Hardware on Fourth Ave in St. Catharines for their ongoing support. Throughout December, Home Hardware sold Christmas Trees with the benefit going to support the Lions and our work in the community. Dennis was able to join us at our dinner meeting on Tuesday January 14 where he presented a cheque for $1,000 to Lion Dennis and the Port Dalhousie Lions Club. Special thanks to everyone at Garden City Home Hardware for their ongoing support of our Lions Club and our work supporting those in need in our community.

Howard Staynes Melvin Jones Award
The Port Dalhousie Lions Club was thrilled to honour Lion Howard Staynes with the Melvin Jones Award at our Christmas gathering on December 14. The Melvin Jones Award is the highest honour in Lionism, named for the founder of the Lions Club. This award reflects Lion Howard’s unending commitment to the Port Dalhousie Lions Club for the past 26 years. Congratulations to Lion Howard for this great honour.
Spaghetti Night Supporting Community Care
The Port Dalhousie Lions Club would like to thank all of our loyal supporters who came out to our spaghetti night dinner last night (November 6) and who, together with our sponsors and supporters at the Niagara IceDogs and Dine Niagara (Dine Local) helped us raise almost $400 for Community Care along with a good pile of non-perishable food donations! Simply by bringing a non-perishable donation or making a cash donation at our spaghetti night, our supporters got the chance to go home with one of two gift baskets from Dine Local which included a local bottle of wine along with a $25 Dine Local Gift Card which can be used at over 50 restaurants in the Niagara Region (including the next Spaghetti night). Also, a special thanks to Alex Assadourian (C), Mathieu Paris (RW), and Andrei Loshko (RW) from the Niagara IceDogs who stopped by to help us serve! We’ll see you on Wednesday December 4 for the next edition of our Spaghetti Night and your next chance to “GIVE TO WIN”!

Olcott Lions Visit
The Port Dalhousie Lions has a special relationship with our sister club in Olcott, New York, and we were very happy to be able to share some time with them on June 12, 2024. A group of our Lions members took a bus to join the Olcott Lions meeting in fellowship and to share experiences with our friends south of the border. Thank you to the Olcott Lions for your hospitality and service!
