As the Port Dalhousie Lions Club continues to evolve and grow, as a club we felt it was important to formally live up to the sign on our door that states: “All Are Welcome”. While we have always strived to be inclusive in our events and community support, we haven’t been as good at growing our membership in the same way as our community has changed. To that end, we are proud to formally adopt a new Diversity Statement outlining our commitment to growing our club in a way that celebrates our differences and welcomes new and diverse voices to our membership. It is truly our goal that whether as a member, a guest, or a member of our community, that “All Feel Welcome” in the safe space we are building at the Port Dalhousie Lions Club. Port Dalhousie Lions Club Diversity Statement The Port Dalhousie Lions Club is committed to inclusivity in our club and our community. We are committed to making everyone feel welcome whether as a guest at our events, or as a member of our club. Our club and membership commit to building our membership, serving our community, and conducing our business with the following principles of diversity:
Donation to Coldest Night of the Year / Start Me Up Niagara
The Port Dalhousie Lions Club is proud to provide a donation of $1,000 to support the Coldest Night of the Year campaign in support of Start Me Up Niagara and the work they do in St. Catharines to support our homeless and underhomed population. We chose to make our donation through the Dine Niagara team and captain Lion Tim Empringham. We appreciate the volunteer work that our Port Dalhousie Lions Members do outside the club!
Lion Grant – Melvin Jones Fellowship Award Winner
At a recent dinner meeting our Lion Member Grant accepted the Melvin Jones Fellowship award, which is an award given to dedicated individuals in lion-ism. Grant has been with us at the Port Dalhousie Lions Club for 38 years now, talk about dedication! 🏅 Grant accepted the award given to him by fellow recipients of the Melvin Jones Fellowship: Lion Wayne, Brad, Greg, and Peter. Congratulations Lion Grant! We are so happy to have you, and your dedicated heart at our Club!! 🦁🏅

Donation to Everett’s Elevator
Our very own Lion David came across a story about a boy named Everett in the St. Catharines Standard a couple weeks ago. Everett and his family started a gofundme to save up for an elevator lift in their family home. Touched by their story, we at the Port Dalhousie Lions Club decided to donate $1000 dollars to help. Pictured here is Lion David and Lion Chief Andre giving the cheque towards the lift for Everett. Everett’s dad, Tyler, accepted for him. Thank you to our MPP Jennie Stevens for hosting us. To learn more about Everett and the situation at hand, we’ve included the link to his gofundme. Please feel free to donate to Everett and his family to help them install, and make the appropriate home renovations for the elevator lift as well 🙂 https://www.gofundme.com/f/everetts-elevator
